Join us for a special basket weaving workshop with Aunty Helen Harrison, a Kurni elder from Lake Tyers. "Good day and womanjeka. My name is Helen Harrison, I'm a Kurni elder from Lake Tyers. I'm a traditional basket weaver, taught by my dear old grandmother from the age of five, weaving baskets made from reeds called lomandra. I've worked in schools, outdoor programs, Johnstone Park in Geelong and many other places over the years. You might like to learn to make a basket, or something smaller and more personal, like a little beaded badge." Participants will learn traditional weaving.  All materials will be supplied. Where: Torquay Community House, 14 Price Street, Torquay When: Wednesday 2 September, 10am - 11:30am. Cost: $30 per participant, $20 concession. She is passionate about small business and helping people achieve in their industry. She started running classes in a bid to help businesses create more professional images without needing to spend a fortune on doing so.   

Commencing 21 July 2026 Low-cost one-on-one 40-minute Maths and English tutoring sessions for students from prep to VCE. Our volunteer tutors have years' of experience in the field. When: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:00pm-6:00pm during school terms. Commencing from 13 July (10 weeks) Little Da Vincis  These sessions involve lots of fun craft activities including painting, drawing, cutting and pasting for your little one to enjoy and it's a great opportunity to catch up with other parents and carers.
